Andrea Kenny

'Andrea Kenny earned her stripes during the six years of being vocalist and guitarist in popular bristol punk band Two Day Rule. After numerous tours of the country and 3 albums, she decided it was time to hang up her teenage angst and persue a more meaningful solo career. Being heavily influenced by blues and particulary Janis Joplin, she honed her writing style to a more rootsy and raw sound, employing real heart and soul to her lyrics, voice and playing. There is no doubt that she has matured musically and mentally. Since leaving her punk rock roots, Andrea has made quite a name for herself on the brighton acoustic scene, hosting open mics at the marlborough and headlining various gigs around the area. One of the highlights was playing a slot at brighton pride last year. Now in the process of forming a full band including cello and fiddle, she has high hopes of achieving success this year and recording a full lenth album with her band. So watch out.......here comes the Cavalry"

Belle Humble

Bubbly singer songwriter from London, giving us acoustic versions of her jazzed up filmic pop.  New: official winner of the International Songwriting Competition

Bettina Schelker

Swiss chart topper, Bettina Schelker, is taking the English speaking music world by storm. The former Swiss National Boxing Champ mesmerizes her audience with her rich smooth voice and intricate guitar playing. Her new cd "The Honeymoon is Over" is dedicated to the struggle of gay and lesbians for equal rights.
''Music, sports, political activism. Is there nothing this woman can't do?" Diva Magazine, London, UK

Dee Ana Und Band

DUB are a five-piece rock band from Stuttgart, Germany.  Initially a duo, lead singer Dee Ana and guitarist Milena extended their musical expression by bringing in Christoph (bass), Anja (guitar) and Kerstin (drums).

With a touch of Country and Indie style they’ve developed their own characteristic sound and DUB is now delighting an ever-growing audience.

The five members of DUB elaborate the instrumental core of their arrangements in close cooperation. “It matters most to us that all members give free rein to their creativity, being able to perform with a sense of unity in which we can reflect ourselves…creating enthusiasm by pointing out our individuality - that’s what we are looking for!”

Jude Gordon

Scottish artist, Jude will shortly be exhibiting in London including Art Kandy. We are pleased that Jude is exhibiting her work at Girls Out Loud Festival as well.

"The sources of my work centre on nature and the landscape. I am interested in the notion of time passing and the evidence that has been left behind exploring natural materials and the process of change. The diversity of the landscape with its distorted forms and range of textures and colours offers me an endless source of inspiration.

Previously while studying in Iceland, I experimented with ice creating large paintings focussing on the traces made by melting ice. I am intrigued by the patterns created on the landscape by the erosion process of the elements. My recent work is centred around the forms that nature produces when life erupts in Spring, breathing life into old and decaying vegetation. Abstract forms are produced revealling new shapes, textures and patterns from dead and barren ground. This new body of work will encorporate paintings, illustrations and photography - watch this space"

Lizzie B

Lizzie presents her own unique style of acoustic music.  With meaningful lyrics and beautiful clear, soulful vocals, you could argue that her songs hint a little, at Folk, Blues and Jazz.  Lizzie quotes, “her songs are easy listening, and are driven with meaningful lyrics and unique melodies”. Her inspirations come from Artists like: Mary Black, Bic Runga, Jewel, Rosie Thomas and Sarah Mclachlan.

Lizzie Presents a weekly Radio Show for Local Talent across the airwaves of Essex, every Friday between 7-9pm @ 94.7fm (Local to Maldon, Colchester and Burnham) and online @ Saint FM Supporting and promoting Essex music. For more info and music submissions visit www.myspace.com/localtalentsaintfm

Lizzie is currently promoting her new EP ‘Living on the edge of my dreams’. Produced by Richard Allen at BCL Studios Essex, The EP is embellished with string arrangements of Violin, Bass and Cello.

Alongside her music, Lizzie has been studying for her ‘Certificate in Education’, and teaches Vocal Studies courses and individual singing tuition, and family learning workshops

Lonesome Jac

Since the Britney suing incident of 2005, Lonesome Jac mostly finds herself writing country songs about a travelling whore - and thinks that this is perfectly normal. She does not find that her obsession with Elvis Presley in any way affects her day-to-day life.

Lonesome Jac presently lives alone.

Pretty Route

The Pretty Route are not cool. However, undeterred by this, they hope to be taking the world by storm very shortly. Failing that, the South-East.

Marie Tueje

Catchy and memorable (for all the right reasons), her repertoir of songs have drawn comparisons to Aimee Mann, Thea Gilmore and early Liz Phair and cites her primary musical influences as the classic songbooks of Burt Bacharach/Hal David and Cole Porter, alongside the more contemporary sounds of arranger/producer Jon Brion and Ryan Adams.

Rosie Wilby

In 2004, Rosie turned to stand up comedy after encouragement from fans who enjoyed her between-song banter almost as much as the songs themselves. Immediate success in the prestigious So You Think You’re Funny competition kick started a whole new career strand. Appearances in the finals of Funny Women 2006, Funny Bones 2006 and Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year 2007 followed. An autobiographical full length show ‘Olympic Swingball Champion 2012’ enjoyed well-attended runs at Edinburgh Fringe 2006 and Brighton Fringe 2007.

Rosie has worked as an MC on the Left Field Stage at Glastonbury Festival and in the prestigious Comedy Tent at Edinburgh Fringe Sunday introducing top international comics and IF award nominees to the stage. Renowned performance poetry organisation Apples & Snakes were so impressed at seeing her hosting monthly female performance showcase Behind The Mic at the Glass Bar that they asked her to MC their Christmas cabaret 2007. While Battersea Barge also invited her to host and curate a series of cabaret evenings entitled Femmes on the Thames.

Rosie regularly performs on the LGBT circuit at clubs such as Comedy Camp in London and at festivals including Pride, Homotopia and Glasgay. In 2007, she performed at ‘An L Of A Night’ at Victoria Theatre in Halifax with Rhona Cameron and at The Gay Comedy Night at The Y Theatre in Leicester with Mrs Barbara Nice. She was also part of The Queer Choir in the late 90s, performing at the ICA, Drill Hall, Union Chapel, Pride, Connaught Hall and more.

Rosie has recently been a guest on Jenny Éclair’s LBC radio show, and on Radio Merseyside (Billy Butler) and Radio Cambridge (Sue Marchant). She has been a roving gig reporter for GLR / BBC London Live (Laura Lee Davies) and a researcher / reporter for Radio 5 Live (Out This Week).

Voodoo Hussy

Voodoo Hussy’s sound can be described as punk-rock cabaret, combining pop melody with a hard rock punch, constantly delivered with high energy. Lead vocalist Shabby Joe’s sarcastic wit and intriguing charisma ensure all eyes on her. Backed by four talented and androgynously appealing ladies, she holds court firing sexual innuendo and political satire, belting out every song as though she were born performing. Liz (lead guitar), Pyro (rhythm guitar), Naj (bass) and Leanna (drums) provide doses of metal glory and punk power all with enough pop sensibility to appeal to the masses.

Having had song play on Total Rock Radio as well as an interview, making the final of the Emergenza Battle Of The Bands comp, headlining the Women’s stage at London Pride and Vibration Festival, interviews and photo shoots for DIVA Magazine and I love London Girls Calendar, being booted out of the Jack Daniels unsigned band comp for being ‘too rock n roll’, and managing to be on the receiving end of Lilly Allen’s gob prove that this band is set for success.

Voodoo Hussy have played some of London’s finest venues including The Clapham Grand, Mean Fiddler, Borderline, Islington Academy, Hope & Anchor and Purple Turtle to name a mere few, as well as shows outside London, always to incredible response.
